Hello! My name is Nadia Uy de Baron, I am a Filipino Chinese artist currently residing in New Zealand. I am in my fourth year of pursuing a conjoint degree in Bachelors of Fine Arts and Bachelors of Design at the University of Auckland.

My journey with art began at a young age, nurtured by numerous art classes during my childhood. Moving to New Zealand for high school opened up a world of opportunities for me to broaden my skills and knowledge in various art styles and techniques. This cultural shift has significantly influenced my artistic perspective and growth.

My primary focus is on acrylic painting, where I specialize in portraits, landscapes, and still life. The vibrant and dynamic nature of acrylics allows me to express my creativity vividly. Additionally, I enjoy exploring the meticulous art of woodcut and etching prints during my spare time.

Beyond traditional mediums, I have a passion for graphic design, where I focus on flat and cohesive designs, paired with colorful and fun typography. This combination allows me to create visually appealing and engaging pieces that reflect my playful yet structured approach to design.

Outside of my personal artistic pursuits, I work at an afterschool care programme, where I have the joy of looking after children and sharing my passion for art with them. Teaching kids about different art techniques and watching them discover their own creativity is incredibly rewarding.

In addition to my part-time job, I serve as the social media marketing manager for the Auckland University Fashion Society. In this role, I manage our Instagram and Facebook accounts, creating and designing posters and posts for our events and information, always striving to infuse them with my cohesive design style and vibrant typography.
